THE NUTRIENT EFFECT

THE NUTRIENT EFFECT

Isn't it amazing that our everyday food that looks so simple is actually a complex mixture of nutrients that are essential for the physical and mental growth of children?

Nutrition is a science that describes the benefit that food provides after digestion, assimilation and absorption. Lack of nutrition can affect the growth of children and  lead them to being unhealthy.

The components of food can be classified into 'Micro nutrients' and 'Macro nutrients'.

Micro nutrients include vitamins and minerals which are required by body in minimal amounts but the deficiency of which can cause long term health disadvantages.

Macro nutrients include carbohydrates,  proteins , fats and fibres which are required in a larger amount by the body and play an important role in providing nutrition.

Water is also an important component of macro nutrients. Though water, by itself, does not provide any nutritional benefit, it is an extremely important component in all the biological processes that take place in our body.

Interesting, right?
