THE HOLISTIC WAY OF LIVING

The importance of holistic living has been coming into picture nowadays. If we look at our previous generations, we can draw lot of clues which was long ago forgotten about having a healthy lifestyle!

Optimal health is not merely absence of diseases, but a gentle balance amongst your physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual health.

Any imbalance in any of these areas creates a discomfort which can be seen in the form of physical health or behavior.

To reach your child to help him/her strike this balance, you have to lead by example. Your actions speak louder than words. Children learn from observation more rather than your advice. The 4 pillars of optimal health are Exercise, Attitude,Rest and Nutrition (EARN). We should give time to ourselves to earn this health.

These pillars are the foundation for a holistic life. Let’s discuss each one in brief,

  1. Exercise (E) : The time you spend on physical activity for you and your child is very important and lays the basis of a healthy relationship and great bonding among you all as a family.

  2. Attitude (A) : The environment we give to the child as parents forms and moulds the child's attitude which in turn decides the personality the child develops as an adult.

  3. Rest(R) : The relaxation time you give to your child gives him/her enough rest from their mundane routine and refreshes and recharges them. This process rejuvenates their physical and mental energies and should be practiced everyday. This will help them discover their creative side as well.

  4. Nutrition (N) : A balanced meal is the Building block of your child s healthy progress. It’s very important to make sure that your child is being fed with required amounts of Micro and Macro nutrients. The deficiency of these lead to stunting their growth .
