When we think of food, the first thing that comes to our mind is physical growth but we hardly realise that our Mind and our Soul too, have to be fed well. And food for the Mind and the Soul are our thoughts, the words that we speak and the words that we hear. This is the food that we feed our subconscious mind everyday.
So, isn't it natural that we should be aware of what we think and say just the way we are aware of what we eat or drink? Awareness is the key here as we can change our thoughts to be positive for the betterment of our Mind and Soul.
Children, by nature, are very observant and aware. We, as adults, can help them develop this habit of feeding their Mind and Soul with positive thoughts.
Writing down positive affirmations and placing them in your children's room will lead them to imbibe the affirmations. Such affirmations help children face exams or competitions with confidence and composure.
Meditation is also an effective way for you and your children to have control on emotions and manage them effectively.
But before we start training our children, it is important that we train ourselves. Once we start experiencing the wonderful results of being positive , it will reflect on our behaviour and will be seen by our children, as well.
BOX:
TRY THIS! Here is a small experiment you can do with your children. Take 2 small bowls of rice and label them as 'Positive' and 'Negative'. Ask your children to speak positive sentences like 'I love you', 'I thank you' ,'I respect you' into the bowl labelled 'Positive' and say negative and unkind words into the other bowl labelled 'Negative'. Do this for a week. You can see the difference between the bowls. |
